"Over the course of the last 14 years, Carlos Otarola, owner of TriStar Roofing was contracted to do a tear-down and roof on two of my homes. He came highly recommended by a friend who had also hired him to roof her home. "We just bought a 2-flat on Chicago's north side and were in search of roofers for some serious repair work. We had quotes from several places, Carlos beat all of them without me even telling him what the quotes were. I already had a good feeling based on the reviews I had read about his work and his team did not disappoint. Their schedule was very busy, which was understood and made clear from the beginning. He gave us a date about 3 weeks away and when the time came, he reached out to me to confirm our tentative appointment. When his team showed up, they did excellent work by doing a layover on our flat roof and even built a new hatch for us. A couple cables were cut because they offered to take down all the unused satellite dishes for us, but in the process, cut our internet wire and even offered to pay for it. "Tristar roofing did a great job installing a roof on our house about 11 years ago. The roof never leaked but we started to notice excessive deterioration and curling of the shingles. When I called Tristar on this, they were quick to call me back and helped me work with the shingle manufacturer to get a settlement under the warranty. Carlos and his team did an excellent job installing the new roof. As with the original work, they did the job on schedule and did a great job on the clean up. I trotted in 3-4 roofing guys to have a look. Their prognoses ran the gammut. From "You're scrood bro, get a new roof, then a new life," to "No worries mate, lets try bubble gum?"
Carlos agreed to put down a new modified bit layer (phew) saving me the heart/wallet-ache of a tear off, and a nice warrantee to boot. And his price destroyed everyone else's.
He saved the day. When I saw that my man had NO yelp reviews (he hadnt heard of Yelp until today, when I mentioned it to him), well, the rest is history.

"We had a leaky skylight that needed to be replaced. Tri-Star came out the next day for an estimate. Because of the size they had to order it. Because of COVID suppliers were backed up, but they installed it the morning after they received it. They were in and out. I sent the owner a text to ask if they would be out to finish the job and he told me it was already installed. We have had several heavy rains and have not noticed any leaks or other issues. "Knowing that I needed a new roof and knowing how expensive they can be, I solicited three estimates for the work. If you need a beautiful new roof at a fair price, call Tri-Star. This company was established in 1976 and is headed by Carlos, who is very professional - he even was on site for much of the installation to answer any questions I might have. I know that if I have any problems with my new roof, I can call Carlos.
The team of installers he sent to my home were efficient, organized and polite. These gentlemen covered my pitiful looking flowers and newly installed expensive AC unit with tarps. I noticed they tore off and installed in quadrants. They were very respectful of my neighbors property/driveways as well. They removed every single nail (I walked my driveway after they left) that might have fallen during tear-off.
